BIOGRAPHY
David’s first paid job involved sitting on a hillside on the Akers' family farm with a pair of binoculars recording the ear-tag numbers of mating goats. He has moved on from that lifestyle but we advise you to keep your distance if you are wearing an angora sweater.
David began playing around with inflatable balls in 1994 and in 1997 he started the first permanent zorbing site and established the zorb factory in
Over the next 10 years David designed, developed and tested zorbs, equipment and new products for zorbing, and assisted in site design for zorbing sites around the world. He established production facilities, methods and quality control for exports to over 18 countries.
David has worked with numerous TV shows such as The Amazing Race, MTV Road Rules and Top Gear, and on promotional events for international companies including Nike and DreamWorks. He was responsible for setting up operating and training systems and safety standards for zorbing.
David left the old zorbing company in 2006 and began work on new projects - including the Fishpipe and now…OGO!
David is married to Kate, and in his spare time (ha!) goes mountain biking, plays squash, invents board games, and regularly loses to his 2 children in games of wit and skill.
